Apoc Luck XVI 2016 Finale

Another great year in the books.  Three years and running.

A huge thank you to our event sponsors: Kromlech, Mechanical Warhorse, and Secret Weapon Miniatures.  Thank you Pickle Jar for catering the event, the food was incredible.

I set out to theme the event after Kastorel Novem and get as many Ork players in the community to participate.  By years end, there was nearly 80,000 pts on the table.  An entire side of Orks!  It was glorious.  Please check out the photo album of the event.  Norm built a custom Ork Blasta Bomma from a B-24 Liberator for the event, it is amazing.

Apoc Luck XVI Last Stand on Kastorel Novem 2016 Finale

Our very own Matt went home with an NGC40k Party Wagon for being the best sportsman of the event.

Kromlech is back!

With us wrapping up Kasterol Novem, an epic 40k battle that revolves around the Imperials trying to thwart a great Ork advance.  It only seems fitting and I’m crazy excited to announce it.

Kromlech is coming back for a second year to sponsor the Apoc Luck Finale.  Some of the best Ork miniatures on the market.  I’ve got a ton of Orc Great Coats myself and they look amazing.  Go check them out.

NGC40k Episode 011

Episode 011

In our eleventh episode Mark and Peter are joined by their friend Norm to discuss hobby, the 2015 Apoc Luck Finale in all it’s glory.  Again we would like to thank Kromlech, Mechanical Warhorse, and Secret Weapon Minatures for sponsering the free event.  In this episode we also include a bonus topic of the how’s, when’s and why’s of Naming a character model. This also includes a special challenge for our listeners.

Bolter Segment: Sergeant Valus inspires the Imperial Guard and defends the position with an air strike.

Hobby Spotlight: Norm’s custom Realm of Battle Board. (Hobby Photos)

2015 Apoc Finale

The 2015 Apoc Finale was a overwhelming success. I wanted to thank all the participants for making it the best event to date. A huge thanks to Pegasus Games for letting us take up their entire gaming space. Big thank you to the event sponsors: Kromlech, Mechanical Warhorse and Secret Weapon Miniatures.  Thank you Aaron, Andy and Matt for providing the FAT mats that just made the terrain pop even more.  Special thanks to my friend Al for coming down and taking all the photos of the event.  Brian and David, the men behind the Chaos Incursion, a hearty thank you.  And thank you John from Pickle Jar bbq & pie for supplying the best food in Madison, WI.

Boy so many things to discuss, look for Episode 11, we will discuss the entire event from start to finish.  In the end we had a 5’x22′ table holding over 90,000 points.  Even John Kovalic, the artist of Dork Tower stopped by to see the spectacle.

The Tau ended up with three MVPs and the Imperial side had one.  The first Tau MVP was Imotekh for surviving the next two MVPs.  The next two MVPs for the Tau were the two Imperial Warlord Titans, catastrophically exploding in top of turns 2 and 3, removing nearly 60% of the imperial force.  The Imperial MVP was Jeremy and his Space Marine and Elysian army.  Single handedly dropping in the far back field sea of green and bravely challenging the xenos back objective for four solid turns.

In the end it was a xenos victory, 28 to 24.  The Imperial side never gave up and pressed hard to try to catch up from the half, but couldn’t quite pull it off.

Again, thank you everyone for participating and I look forward to seeing all of you next year for Kastorel Novem.  Check out the Apoc Luck page for photos.

Less Than Two Weeks !!!

Less than two weeks to go until the final showdown on Agrellan Prime.  You’ve heard me talking about buildings, buildings, buildings for it seems like forever.  I have one last building to complete, the Aquilla Cathedral.  The 2015 Damocles Warzone Apoc Series has been awesome and like last year, nothing tops the Finale.

I want to give a thank you to our event sponsors Kromlech, Mechanical Warhorse and Secret Weapon Miniatures.  I want to give an extra shout out to Kromlech.  They went above and beyond for this event.  When their first event package was lost in transit from Poland, they stepped forward and sent me another prize pack.  That was totally unexpected and I just wanted to say their products, service, and support for the gaming community are top notch.  Go check out all three sponsors on the web.  They have some amazing products.

And I would also like to thank John from Pickle Jar bbq & pie for catering this event.

NGC40k Episode 009; Death Storm book review

NGC40k Episode 009

In our ninth episode Mark and Peter discuss hobby, narrative events at tournaments, charity events and other cool stuff happening in the community. Did we mention just how big the Shield of Baal campaign series is? We continue the coverage with the novella “DeathStorm” by Josh Reynolds. This book is a great companion to the background given in the box set. It really expands the story.

Bolter Segment: Brother Maxus, with Sergeant Valus, communicates with their Strike Cruiser only to find something from the warp is about to alter their plans.

Hobby Spotlight: Mark and Peter return with another in depth hobby spotlight. Mark really shows off what you can do with what some would perceeve as garbage.  Big Mek Stompa pics

A reminder, don’t forget about Midnight Madness The War on Hungar, Nov 21st-22nd @ SoCal Games and Comics in Temecula, CA

I’m making preparations for this years Apoc Finale.  Apoc Luck XI, “The Spire” The Tau have reached the heart of Agrellon Prime in the Damocles Warzone.

How many points? How many can you handle?  It’s 40k Apocalypse, “Go Big or Go Home”

The 2015 Apoc Luck Finale is Really Shaping Up!

We picked up three sponsors thus far for the event.  Mechanical Warhorse has once again stepped up to sponsor the end of the year Apocalypse series finale.  We gained two new sponsors for the event, Secret Weapon Miniatures and Kromlech.  A huge thank you for supporting our event.

We also locked in our caterer.  Our good friend John from Pickle Jar bbq & pie has offered to cater the event once again.  I’m pretty excited, his food is sooooo good.

I’m working on the buildings and finalizing some other things.  This is shaping up to be an awesome event.

Also, if you haven’t done so already and you want the chance to win a Pipework set from Mechanical Warhorse.  They just released their second story pipework set, so here is your opportunity to get in at the ground level.  (pun totally intended)  To get into the drawing, just like our facebook page or leave us a positive review on itunes.  Do both and get a double entry.  I’m extending the deadline to the Friday before the release of our 7th Episode, so September 25th.

Good Luck and thanks for listening.

Peter
