We conclude our May celebration of model terrain with some more great kits by Mechanical Warhorse.
You’ve seen my posts on the pipeworks kits for our Mechanicum/Industrial district, they are coming along nicely. I wanted to show you some other great stuff and some items that are ahead of their time. Mechanical Warhorse has some great scatter terrain and table props that really help capture the battle on your table top. I’m talking about their com & watch towers, tanks traps and acrylic explosions, smoke and so much more.
Did I tell you how much I like their billboards? I have three of these kits and they are great for nearly any setting, badlands, city, etc. I’ve put them on the table at every Apoc Luck event I’ve run. They are just too damn cool not to take pictures of your models without these somewhere in the photo.
Preparing for 8th? You may want to pick up a few of these handy game pieces. Help you keep track of all those wounds your power figs have now. They have these in every size base too.
In the spirit of ‘Model Terrain Company of the Month’, and keeping with the Armageddon release Mechanical Warhorse is giving a double container kit away to a lucky listener. Great for creating a stable base for stacking containers as high as your needs take you.
Our own group is building a Mechanicum/Industrial district and I immediately thought of Mechanical Warhorse for my pipework kits. These kits are easy to assemble, look great on the table top and are very reasonably priced. The Narrative Guys have a table full of this terrain and it looks fantastic. Industrial, Imperial wastelands, ship interiors, the uses go on and on.

Armageddon is everywhere I look these days. Danger lurks around every corner and from distant platforms. Densely packed terrain with a strong industrial vibe really helps set the scene. A great way to create that is with containers, catwalks and gantries. Carlos is putting together some exciting combo sets to get you started.

Horizon Creation 3D has some great Battlefield Terrain. Concrete bunkers and tank traps for your hard points, watch towers and sandbag positions for your softer points. Highly detailed and ready to create some cool scenarios.
Horizon Creation 3D has some great Bio Terrain, perfect for creating a Tyranid invaded world. I thought this terrain was perfect for my 40k Warzone Valedor table that I made for the 2017 Apoc Luck series. Painted up in Leviathan, Kraken or a scheme of your own, this terrain will look great on your table top and really pull you into the story.
We all now how important terrain is to the game. It is the stage to the story we are trying to tell. It envelopes our models and entices our imagination as we play through a game. It has come to be known as the 3rd army. In the case of The Narrative Guys and myself, it is more like our 4th, 5th and 6th armies.
I’ve already taken one step by creating the Terrain Index on our website. I plan to make it better, more user friendly and I have a huge list of companies that need to be added.
I’ve decided I want to feature a model/terrain company every month to let you all know what is out there. Show you what cool stuff they have and what they are working on. Maybe even get some insight from the creators themselves.
Kicking it off is Horizon Creation 3D. Founded in 2013, Curtis has taken his 3D printing company from nothing and built it into a household name. He was so kind as to give us a Tech Terrain Kit to give away. Pictured here are more of his awesome tech kits, great for Tau terrain, infinity, hive cities, power plants, etc. Where ever your imagination takes you.
To win this kit, like our Facebook Page NGC40k Podcast or follow us on Twitter @ngc40k
I will be picking a winner the last week of April.
Thank you Justin from Tucson for participating in our Rapidfire Giveaway. I’m sure we will see great pics of this glow in the dark Ghost Stone from Terrainify in use on the tabletop. While you’re at it, check out his band Apostles of Ale .
Thank you Terrainify for supplying a cool piece of terrain to give away on our show.
I’m hoping to have more events like this in the future from other great terrain companies out there. Until next time, have a great narrative game.
In our twenty fourth episode Mark and Peter discuss a wide variety of topics including what we’ve been up to in the hobby, games played and the local Horus Heresy Weekender.
Segment 1: We continue our discussion on the Main Rule Book fluff. Why? Cause there’s some great stuff in there and we wanted to tell you about what you may have been overlooking. This time we cover the Orks and Dark Eldar.
Segment 2: We continue our Exploration of the World of 30k. We know many have taken this leap already, but for those dipping their toes in like Mark and I, we thought it would be a learning experience for us and our listeners. Though for every likeness between 30k and 40k, the game is very much not the same. In this episode we complete the Troops choices.
Bolter Segment: The Battle for Detros Mitus continues as the line is holding by the thinnest of threads.
The Mechanical Warhorse giveaway is complete. The winner is announced at the end of the episode.
One lucky listener will win a Mechanical Warhorse Billboard 30 kit in celebration of our one year anniversary. To enter, like our NGC40k Facebook page or leave us an iTunes review. We draw a winner in our next episode, good luck.
