In our twenty third episode Mark and Peter discuss a wide variety of topics including what we’ve been up to in the hobby, games played and grenades
Segment 1: The battle for Chargis III in the Vestega System continues. We expand the theatre to the far reaches of the system where the Marines Errant discover a floating hulk on course for Chargis III.
Segment 2: We begin our discussion on the Main Rule Book fluff. Why? Cause there’s some great stuff in there and we wanted to tell you about what you may have been overlooking.
Segment 3: We continue our new segment called Exploring the World of 30k. We know many have taken this leap already, but for those dipping their toes in like Mark and I, we thought it would be a learning experience for us and our listeners. Though for every likeness between 30k and 40k, the game is very much not the same.
Bolter Segment: The Battle for Detros Mitus continues as the line is holding by the thinnest of threads.
The Mechanical Warhorse giveaway is still going. In an awesome act of kindness, Carlos sent us his new Model 30 Billboard to give away to our listeners. To enter leave us an Itunes review and/or like our facebook page NGC40k Podcast to get entered. We are drawing a winner in episode 024. Good Luck
Sorry for the delay on the next episode. I really wanted to get the latest bolter segment recorded. It’s a long one, nearly 8 minutes of audio. It closes the door on chapter two. I’ve also been writing chapter three of the Battle for Detros Mitus: The March of House Thopelion.
I stopped by the local Warhammer store today. Had a great conversation with Tony, the store manager, about various products and easing gamer entry into the hobby by promoting more Killteam type and various lower point level games. I personally love playing at that point level, units matter more, and every model lost truly affects your armies overall performance.
He mentioned some Necromunda type events and a future Kill Team campaign being ran in the store. He was excited about the upcoming Blood Bowl release. I have to say, he made me excited for it too. It’s been a long time since I played on a pitch.
We both discussed our excitement for the new snow texture paint. Best of all, he explained how to get great results with the newer gemstone paints. A man of knowledge he is. Glad to have you in our area.
Stopped by the local Fitchburg Warhammer store today. They had me at Corax. Always great service, thanks gents.
The sun hung low in the western skies. The last rays streaking through the branches of the turning foliage. The smell of liquid courage in the air. I make love to my left for what may be the last time. I don my heaviest armor, the ever holy Armor of Deetelion Deepwoods. I pray to the machine spirit and perform the sacred rituals, taught to me by the priests of Mars themselves. The twirling blades of death remain sharp in the wind, churning the air until they finally create a mighty gale. The likes of which hasn’t been seen since the release of Spinal Tapelious Scent of the Gauntlet. I in my armor and my chosen weapon of doom in hand, I enter the thickening forests of my lands. In high gothic I scream out my battle cry, the echoes of which reach the edges of property and beyond, “Imago Leroy!” Vast volumes of flying Mosquite Dragons awaken from their daily slumbers to meet me. Swarms so thick, only the light of the Astronomicon itself preventing me from losing sight of my path. My mouth sinched shut from the daemons. I clear my back gardens of ever thickening blades of green and by the will of the Emperor I return. I return without injury to my homelands, to the warm walls of my sanctuary, my bastion. As the last rays set I know I will live to see a new set rise in the east and my journey into the forest is staved for another quarter moon.
