Hey Listeners Have You Been Itching to Get Involved?

I have some cool news for our listeners.  I’ve created a way to get you involved and bring a story of your own to life in the Collatus Sector.  It won’t matter where you are located in the world, you can contribute to the ever changing landscape within our sector of the Imperium.  The only thing we ask is that you uphold our standards.  The shows cohost Mark will become a moderator of the forum.  Together we are working on changes to our forum to allow for more participation.  I’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, go to our forum, read the sectors fluff, read about our group standards and get working on those background stories.  Looking for inspiration, check out current members backgrounds and battle reports.

I look forward to your participation and can’t wait to read your stories.

Wrapping up editing

Episode four is jam packed with fun and hobby goodness.  I have a few more quick things to do and this episode is ready to go.

If you missed our 3rd episode you will want to give it a listen for it is the part one of the Shield of Baal: Leviathan campaign.  Also we announced that we are starting a book review segment and we are tying it in with the Shield of Baal.  The first book we are covering is Shield of Baal: Tempestus by Braden Campbell.  I’m a third of the way in and I’d have to say I am not dissappointed.  It is already filling gaps in the campaign and it’s an exciting read.  I’d recommend picking it up.

What a great weekend.

Friday night, Mark and I were back at the bar recording the next episode.  Saturday, Kenny from the Combat Phase podcast stopped by and played a maelstrom mission with me.  I was able to see how the new Mechanicum army plays.  It was tough, but a very close game, 11-10.  Bwah, first blood, you know how it is.  In all seriousness, I had a great time joking around with my friend.  I also got a chance to record with him and get his thoughts on the Sanctus Reach campaign that he ran at the local store.  I look forward to sharing that with our listeners in an upcoming episode.  Enjoy your weekend.

O Captain, my Captain

Today I bow my head and say farewell to my favorite podcast, The Independent Characters.  You have meant a lot to me over the years being a beacon of positivity in the hobby.  Both Carl and Geoff, along with later hosts, delivered excellent coverage of Black Library books and Imperial Armour books.  I enjoyed listening to what you’ve been up to and took many tips from your show.  I also enjoy using inside jokes and phrases from your show such as Tuttle Time and trying to figure out the true monetary value of a Carl.  Yes I do know you have a Facebook Page and I will not be a stranger to it.  For though it is a farewell, we can all rejoice that it is not a goodnight.

“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” -DPS

I know your show has definitely had an impact on mine.

If either of you ever find your way to Wisconsin, I’d love to buy you a pint.
